Artist's Comments

A solar wind stream hit Earth on the night of March 7, 2005 and sparked this modest display of the aurora borealis, as seen from Base Line in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. This bright arc marked the peak of the display, but it faded away after only about a minute.

These auroral captures are quite odd, mainly b/c of that green. While I'm not really attracted to that, it certainly is a strange series you had the chance to witness....I can only hope I might be able to see something like that one day =)

Ahh why doesn't Oregon get such coolness in the sky? And for an ISO of 1600, that is a very low noise level!

You wouldn't worry so much about what people really thought of you if you knew just how seldom they actually do.

Where I lived before moving to Michigan, we too had our fair share of northern lights. I can never get enough of them, one of the most strange and most beautiful things ever :)

Well it was fairly noisy to begin with, but I filtered it with Neat Image to clean it up a bit.
