Description
This is the view of Whitefish Bay from atop the cliffs at Gros Cap, roughly 10 km west of Sault Ste. Marie, ON. This is a series of three vertical shots stitched together horizontally.
The trails at Gros Cap can be quite treacherous, and there are spots along the shoreline with sheer drop-offs of 150 feet to the rocks and water below. On April 29, 2003, Tyler Yuke was hiking at Gros Cap when tragically, he fell to his death. He was 21 years old. I never knew him personally, but I did post on the same local message board as him for a while. I can recall him writing about what a refreshing feeling it was to just be out in the wilderness, experiencing the natural landscape, listening to the subtle sounds of nature, and basking in the silence around you. I hope that, at some level, that feeling can be conveyed through this photograph.

Your picture is beautiful. Sharing the thoughts about Tyler is heart warming to say the least. Since losing Tyler I have found an ever great enhanced appreciation for those quiet moments immersed in Nature.
